What's Hopping?
On Saturday, August 22, Shop Hop Society officially hit the road for our inaugural Shop Hop—and what an adventure it was!
Our group began the day at Bee Charmed in Midlothian, for an hour of private shopping, getting to know one another and the open "Car Bar". We then headed out for a full day of treasure hunting. We explored Furbish Thrift and 804 Modern, where one of our Shop Hoppers won a $50 gift card! Thank you Furbish Thrift! We stopped at Latitude Seafood to recharge over amazing food and great hospitality.
The fun continued with shopping at 5807 South before returning to Bee Charmed.
Of course, this wasn’t just an ordinary shopping trip! Between stops, guests enjoyed games, bingo, prizes, plenty of laughter and a few Shop Hop shenanigans. The bus quickly became part of the fun as shoppers shared their finds, made new connections and created memories together.
The day captured everything Shop Hop Society was created to offer: supporting local businesses, discovering unique treasures and bringing people together through a shared love of shopping.
The best finds weren’t only the treasures that came home in our shopping bags. They were also the new friendships, laughs and unforgettable moments we collected along the way.
To everyone who joined us, welcomed our group, helped behind the scenes or cheered us on—thank you for making our first Shop Hop so special. This was only the beginning!

The Shop of the Month is Furbish Thrift
Furbish Thrift's mission is to aide and support animal welfare in the Richmond area. So not only are you shopping at one of the hotest thrift stores in town, you are also helping all of the dogs and cats in need! A hot tip for new customes; one day a week you can a dontate to their cause and get your name put in a drawing for a $50 gift card; see the store for more details.. Secrets of a Thrifter
Just kidding! We have no secrets! We are excited to share our best discoveries, shopping themes, and thrift hacks.
One of my favorite activities while traveling is exploring the vintage and thrift shops in the area. I enjoy searching for unique objects that represent the local culture to bring back as souvenirs. Throughout my adventures, I have discovered some incredible items, such as antique Delft china in Holland, a vintage Playmobil set depicting dog mushing in Alaska, and an old matchbox in Iceland. This delightful combination of two of my passions makes the experience even more enjoyable. When I'm back home thrifting, I also look for items that remind me of the places I've visited. These souvenirs rank among my most cherished possessions. Happy hunting!
